Heian-kyo was built on a terrain that was considered most suitable for the presence of the four gods, and is protected by them.

This pure silver netsuke depicts the divine beasts that rule the four directions of heaven, made with fretsaw openwork.
The surface is finished with a scale pattern or a pear-skin pattern.

The color of the string is up to you.
